Having Steam Issues

whenever I try to open up Steam it has a dialog box That says ERROR Steam.exe (main exception): Unable to load library Steam.dll

Does anybody know what is wrong?

It'd just reinstall steam.

Before you do so, copy all the .gcf files from the steamapps folder (in the steam folder) to somewhere temporary. Then copy them back once you've reinstalled. It'll save you redownloading and repatching them.

Perhaps it's the security that you've got on your PC that is preventing Steam from loading the Steam.dll?

Are you able to temporarily disable it and try launching steam/reinstalling steam again?
