HD 4850 HIS Or Visiontek

The store i'm buying the card from only has MSI and Visiontek cards. I just read that MSI has no warranty and the visiontek has a 3 year warranty, thats plenty for me since i'll have a new card by then anyway.

No, they just have Mass effect on the cover. None of the cards currently come with a game. On that note, buy Mass Effect, as it's amazing.

I can't be held responsible for bundles released after I post :P Also, the Hightech model comes with a Free iClear card w/ purchase, while supplies last... whatever that is.

Interesting the 9800GTX was reduced to $199 as well and it beats the HD4850 on some benchies ... also the HD4850 runs hot using the stock cooler (80-85C). Its basically a win win situation wheter your getting a 9800GTX or a HD4850.nVidiaGaMer

Except one is ginormous and uses a lot more juice :(

I wouldn't say a lot more because a 9800GTX will run fine on a 450watt psu.

2 x 6 pin vs 1 x 6 pin, bigger card, and a bigger die. Yeah, I'd say it uses up a lot more juice.

It runs a lot cooler though. The HD4850 reaches temps of 80-85C ... ouch! :o

Only because the fan is running at 20%. Once you can adjust that, it will be much cooler.

I dont remember nvidia or ati followers making fun of the 8800gt when it reached 90C :)
