I already own the HD 4870 and I am looking for an Intel CPU to accompany it, an E7200 is as far as my budget will stretch it, I am obviously willing to OC it to its limits. After using AMD for the past 7 years im not as well read up on Intel as I would like to be, would this be a decent cmbination?

overclocked E8400 160$ (newegg) is just like 5-7fps max under E8500 4.3ghz OC. that is worthing 180$ instead of 160$ is sibling at 3.0ghz stock just to help you find the right cpu
so you don't pick the wrong one Topic Creator And don't have to do a D'oh remix song after buyed the wrong cpu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU8WwZpI-i8

seriously showing unreal 3 wtf? 117fps vs 150fps no one will see any difference

the e7200 is fine, and you wont notice any difference in basicly any game except crysis where the e8xx will be noticably better

1024x700 not max resolution. and of 1280x1024 and not best graphic so in a full graphic it would be different
and the other review was with overlcocking it show it can add to +10 fps to +35fps overclocking a cpu
http://www.techspot.com/review/100-intel-core2-duo-e7200/page10.html
just saying for 40$ more you get allot of more performances
or look crysis more game like crysisi will appear by 2009 in graphic need power it just a part of reality and evolution

Yes, 100fps and 150fps. You wont notice the difference unless it dips below 60fps. Then you start to get microstuttering and once you get below 30fps full stuttering. The point is, the higher your average fps, the less chance of your minimum fps dipping below 60 fps and therefore you will get smooth gameplay. High fps is a kind of guarantee that you will get smooth gameplay throughout.....
