HD 7770 - new build

I just bought an XFX HD-7770 gpu from a friend for $100. He only used it for a week, as he was waiting for an RMA on a better gpu that was DOA.

This price saved me a few bucks. Will this be able to hold me over until I can get some funds together for an gpu upgrade next year or so?

Ive heard mixed things about this gpu, some say its a budget... some say to go for the HD-6870. But at $100, what are your thoughts?

I intend on playing Diablo3, and Dark Souls PC edition in the near future.

If that computer is for gaming only I would spend half as much on the processor and dump all the savings on the graphics card.

Thanks for the replies.... not solely for gaming. I do a lot of CAD work as well, and also will be remoting into my work comp for drafting.

Totally understand that I could get by with a less expensive CPU, but I didn't want to get a mobo with an 1155 socket... I am guessing that if I wanted to upgrade 2011 will be a lil future proof. (I could be way off with the Ivy going onto an 1150 socket?)

I do intend to upgrade GPU next year, possibly a cross-fire or just get a top line single gpu. I just wanted something to play a few games for a year. I was hoping this cheap card could get me by.
