so...about like a 6870?

I'm wondering if this would be a good replacement for my GTX 550 ti or if the improvement would be a little too marginal and maybe I should wait for the GTX 660 or 7870. I want to run Lost Planet 2, Battlefield 3, The Witcher 2 on max with no slow down.

It definitely won't. The 560 448 is basically a slightly slower 570; the 7770 should be in the same ballpark as the 6800 series.

Some are forgetting the 128 bit memory bus wont allow the card to surpass the 6850 , and also the 7770 has 320 less processors then a 6850.

How do you propose they fit a larger interface on a ~134mm2 die?
4870 was pad limited in it's original design until they added more units so they could fit the 256bit bus on there.

If you need one right now, no reason to wait.
If you can wait, it should offer lower power consumption, better thermals with the potential of higher performance, cheaper price and better overclocking. It also might drop prices on other cards that perform similar.
