Yesterday a few people got their hands on the brand new ATI card HD4850, some European webbshops has been shipping a few cards out to customers.

The Benchmarks are yet to be revealed, but further on benchmarks of enthusiast that got one of the few cards will appear on the webb.

What i've seen this far is that the card seems to get "hot". (literally)

The price In a few of Sweden onlineshops was 1550-1750skr (about $250, but the price is higher here also, the more correct price would be around 200 in US.)

Edit Hehe, you beat me to it...

I've checked overclockers.co.uk and they haven't got it, don't think it's out here just yet.

All my searches come up with the HD4850 solid state relay. LOL

ATI should have come up with another name.

I want to know how long it is and how much juice it uses before I consider trading up from my 8800GTS... although I really should just keep this card as it's still a champ :D

Synthetic benchmarks Vantage/3Dmark (Not game bench's) show that the HD4850 perform quite a bit better than 9800GTX, so the erlier roumors seems to be true about the performance.

Not a 512mb, 640mb. G90 :( If I get a new card I'd just give it/sell it cheap to a friend. Just remember, people... that 13500 was with a 4.0GHz QX9650. looks sexeh but I wanna see some benchies. If it offers a 30%+ performance increase I may go for it. Otherwise I'll patiently wait :D

means nothing though ATI is notorious for having nice hypothetical benchmarks but in game didn't perform.

Well we all know Nvidia does better in Vantage than Ati does...

But the truth is in the agme benchmarks ofc.

Well as we all knows Nvidia does better than ATI in Vantage and HD4850 deos better than the 9800GTX by quite a bit, but I totally agree the Game benchmarks is the real test.

The first benches have arrived, they show the new ATI is very stong in AA/AF, ATI has fixed the problem of RV6X0 series in their new GPU.

pardon me my for this french post ;)

French bench:

In most games The HD4850 figth the 9800GTX and pulls ahead of the Nvidia competition.

Edit: oops posted the wrong benchmark... now it's the correct one..

Hd4850 even overtake the GTX260 in RACEdrive GRID with both AA and AF enabled and without anything.

were you looking at the same benchmarks? ... I guess on a few the ATI card looked good ... on the bioshock one with no AA/AF but it didn't even register with it (it's in french so we don't know why) ... but anyways the card looks like it will be somewhere around a 8800GTX ish range if you compare it to how the 3870 performed being better but not as high as the nvidia cards

which is still very good if they are going to come in at a low price point considering all of those nvidia cards on the list are still very expensive.

4850 will be better than a 8800GTX, in most tests it beats a Ultra, plus it has crappy drivers.

Well I guess you didn't read the link I provided for you then...

This MIDRANGE card does beat the erlier elite of nvidia in this test, (8800Ultra and 9800GTX) thats awsome for a singlecard in the midrange **** But I cant tell for sure by just this erly review, Before I spread the word I want more benchmarks.

This card does beat the 9800GTX in the most gamebenchmarks and in one game even the GTX260.

this is where the HD4850 pulls ahead of the GTX260, And it does almoust the same FPS with 4*AA as the 9800GTX does without AA at all.
