Alright, so just when i was sure i was getting a 4850, the GTX+ came around and now im back in a big debate. What do you guys think? 4850 or the 9800GTX+

BTW, specs are Q6600, ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard and 4gb of ram. Mobo can change if needed.

GTX+ benchmark scores show it beats the 4850 in almost every game, albeit at $30 more.

From the one article ive seen, 9800 GTX+ has better performence by like 5%. Nothing amazing.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_4850/23.html

HD 4850 is about 4% faster then a 9800gtx (not +) with current drivers.

Maybe we'll see a performence boost with new drivers. Maybe not.

HD4850. Potential for crossfire on a P45 board. Smaller card = better, too.

its pretty much a 9800 GTX...lol just slightly upgraded, only a 10% performence increase.

4850 as it only loses by upto 4FPS on average and even ties on some and because of that its better bang for buck.

Go for the 4850 and overclock it, or grab an overclocked version which should be around $219 on launch date (25th).

Btw ATI just released today a hotfix for 48xx to improve performance. DX10.1 support and awesome performance with 4xAA and 8xAA favor the 4850.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I benched it this morning with stock drivers from the CD and it was nice but not overly impressive, I'll give it a go tonight with the hotfix :)

It WAS suppoed to "officially" launch the 25th, then they changed the "official" launch date to the 19th. Just because the launch date was pushed up doesn't make the new launch date any less official. You could say the original or previous launch date, but the new date is as official as it gets.
