All the benchmarks I see put them within frames of each other. I say whichever is cheaper, because it appears performance is practically identical between the two. See for yourself.

i have a 4850 and its been great. one thing is to make sure your computer has good ventilation because it runs very hot, howeverno games have crashed so i'm sure its able to run at high temps. also note this is in a dell minitower, so i don't think you could have worse ventilation than i don lol.

GTS250, I have one and i LOVE it. It's great for 1680x1050.

EDIT: 65% Efficiency?! I'm not a PSU expert but i don't know with that PSU...

You don't need to bump a thread when its only been two hours. Anyway, both your PSU and motherboard should be fine. I had a GTS 250 and 500W PSU in my old system.

It would be able to run a 4850 or gts 250 just fine. But anycard higher than those two then you might want to upgrade the PSU.

gts 250 is the same as a 9800gtx+ btw, except the 1GB version which I believe had a die shrink or something of the sort, as it runs cooler than a 9800gtx+. Vs a 4850, they are pretty much within spitting distance of each other (depending on game) so get whichever is cheaper or whether you favor physx or not.

Anand has really bad forums, and people on Tom's are always in a super bad mood and will always start a flame war. GS is the place to be ;)

To the TC, the GTS 250 only requires a 1x6 pin power connector. Cheers!

i didnt mean the forums , check the reviews , because at forums you'll always find biased opinions , i suffered from this when i wanted to choose between this card and ati 4870 !! and you can use youtube to search for videos by the cards you're investigating , anyways good luck :)
