Frogot to add something,

Will the MSI P35 Neo2-FR support it?

What about the Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Motherboard? (Not planning to Xfire)

The P35 neo2 FR is actually the P35 platinum with a smaller heatpipe and a red sticker over the platinum sign o the motherboard, it's a great board, totally love it, but as of now there are P45 boards quite cheap and they are very simular to the price of the P35, if you're on a small budjet the P35 neo2 FR will be a great choise PCIe x16 is more than sufficient for that card in a single card configuration, I must say the Neo2 FR/FIR is a great OC'er capable of amacing FSB paired with a CPU that can stand the pressure.

But it has a flaw, the bios is quite tricky to swap, other than that the HD4870 will fit, but the Sata conectors sit a litlle near the VGA cards. (can post a pic if needed) But it's a great board.

I would not get a P43 before the P35 or P45.
