Does your tv need to be compatible with the 1.3v for the cable to work? Or if a tv has an HDMI input, any version can work?

If you have hdmi input any hmdi cable will work on you tv. I think hdmi 1.3 is used for stuff like you surround sound - so that your surround sound can take the audio of the hdmi input then output the video to the tv.

no hdmi 1.3 is better than hdmi because of its "deep color". And color is not sound....

I don't think anything takes advantage of deep color yet as far as I know.

HL-61A650. I will tell your this, it hurt my eyes the first couple of days. Make sure you tone down the brightness and optimize it.

But I don't think there is any content (movies, games, broadcasts) that utilizes deep color...or xvYCC.....Holloywood does not seem that fired up about it...

No, a hdmi 1.3 will work for anything of the hdmi standards (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3) but any cable will not work for the 1.3 standard
