In what order, from best to worst, are these video connections? I'm wondering this from a PC monitor hookup point of view. I've heard that DVI and HDMI are almost identical, especially to the human eye.

HDMI = DVI but with sound on the same cable. VGA is the bottom of the barrel avoid it at all costs. In what order, from best to worst, are these video connections? I think they both do, but DVI monitors don't receive the sound. HDMI/DVI cables can carry sound.smc91352This, a graphics card with a DVI connection is usually capable of transmitting sound, but most monitors/TV's with DVI inputs don't receive sound through DVI.
It depends on the monitor. Some you can tell, others you can't. I generally go with DVI on LCDs, though I have some computers plugged in on VGA even on an LCD, and you can't really tell the difference, but on some you can tell. Not much difference between DVI and VGA.
The difference is one is digital and allows bi-communication (DVI) and the other is analog (VGA).
Visually your eye doesn't see a difference so it doesn't really matter.
