HDMI vs DVI vs VGA

In what order, from best to worst, are these video connections? I'm wondering this from a PC monitor hookup point of view. I've heard that DVI and HDMI are almost identical, especially to the human eye.

I think they both do, but DVI monitors don't receive the sound. HDMI/DVI cables can carry sound.smc91352

The difference is one is digital and allows bi-communication (DVI) and the other is analog (VGA).

Visually your eye doesn't see a difference so it doesn't really matter.
