In that price range I would go with a 19-24" LCD Widescreen PC monitor and the XBOX 360 VGA cable.

FYI, you'll need a set of PC speakers too.  If you not too picky those can be purchased fairly cheaply from anywhere.

I don't think you'll find a 20 for that price, but here's some 15-19 inchers. One is from Sam's club so you'll need a membership or know someone with one. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8205417&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050013&id=1165610379139http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=335409&pCatg=9666http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Element-19-LCD-HDTV-FLX-1910/sem/rpsm/oid/175558/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.dohttp://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polaroid-15-LCD-HDTV-Monitor-FLM-1514B/sem/rpsm/oid/159405/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Neverbuy computer equipment from bestbuy, circuit city, futureshop, etc.

Speciality stores like newegg (and my local) NCIX carry better prices, and better quality items. Futureshop/bestbuy/circuit city details are often misleading. I bought a monitor from futureshop once because I didn't have time to drive an hour to a specialty store... looked at the specifications and it should have matched my home monitor.

Not only did it look less asthetically pleasing... the quality in resolution was no where near what it should have been.

Fry's Electronics, a large electronics chain in California, is awesome, though. They're nothing like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. They have a ton of computer hardware and people who actually know a thing or two about computer hardware (the last time I went there I had a fairly good conversation with one of the employees about power supplies :P).

Except for the Element, non of those are HD. All those 15 inchers are 4:3 at 1024*768, and  HD 720p is a full 1280*720, so those cheap things will probably squish HD into 4:3, looking real bad, or if it adds bars on the top and bottom then it's no longer HD because it would be using less resolution scaled down, like 1024*5xx or something.

Best bet is a PC LCD screen. But even then you can have a slight issue. PC does 16:10 widescreen, while HD is 16:9. So what's the problem you say, just set the monitor to aspect mode to keep the shape at 16:9 and leave bars on the top and bottom of a 16:10 screen you say? Well, sadly, most cheaper LCDs have no such options, they just plainly stretch everything and anything to fill the screen, even if it's not widescreen. So 16:9 HD from the 360 will look a bit distorted at 16:10. Unless you get a higher end LCD like the 20.1 Dell 2007fpw (not 207 budget model) for over $300
