Personally I am a big fan of Sennheiser, however they are open Ear and not really pratical for outside use. for Pure Rap Beats are pretty dam good, the only thing is that they cost a pretty Penny, if you found some Beats at a decent discount off Ebay or somewhere then I would say there is no problem. Can't think of a Brand off the top of my head that would Rival them, in terms of sleek nice design Beats are hard to beat.

Wow. For in-ear, correct? Will these be used for walking, biking, excessive, or just casually listening?

If you're looking for something quality with bass thump, consider the Velodyne V-Pulse. They're recommended by both C|Net and in the Head-Fi Summer Buyer's Guide. They're known for having strong bass and being a very "fun" IEM without sacrificing quality. Good luck, Boz

WIth your budget, the Velodyne Vpulse seems most apporiate. Velodyne is a legendary sub woofer manufacturer from the US, they applied their experienced technology very well in their new earbuds and the result is a VERY high quality pair of bassy headphones. The quanitity will surpass Dr.Dres and the quality is on a completely different level. The overall sound quality is again, 2-3 levels above that of Dr.Dre Beats, and can compete with the best IEMs costing twice as much.

IMO they are the best sub 100 pounds IEMs, but pure audiophiles who hate bass prefer the neutral sound of the Hifiman RE0s. but they're so close in every regard except bass anyways.

So I'll vouch Boz and give a +1 to the Velodyne Vpulse!

And who the f**k cares ? its like some saying, the AKG K702s are the best headphones ever made, and if some says, "actually, that would be STAX" you "correct" them by saying, "Nope, that's called electrostatic headphones, nice try though" The Triple-fi's you're posting about still aren't the best non-custom molded IEMs, and if we do include customs we can mention anything from Ultimate Ears, Fit Ear and JH-Audio..

CIEM's are an immense amount of money, just like electrostatic headphone are. I only mentioned the CIEM thing because their in a whole other class than IEM's. Also my statement was purely opinion based but I would say that the TF10's are the best bassy IEM's out there. I do own TF10's too.

Find any headphone that goes down to 20 hz, then remember- theres an eq to use too. If that doesnt work for you, i recommend Sennheisers. The closed back ones are meant for professional applications, so if you are just listening to music, they are most likely to be open. Audio Technica makes some really nice ones too.

Actually I'd say it's the other way round. Open back are better for mixing due to the wider soundstage and generally better highs, and closed back are more suitable for listening since they won't leak huge amounts of sound.
