hello guys how's the thing "heat pipe cooling system" i mean is it good? something like this http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1259&maincat_no=130&cat2_no=136# my friend had bought this card. this card comes without any fan just that pipe system. so now he is confused.. can he overclock his card? if so how far can he push it? he wants a overclock of 720/2040(core/memory). will he be ok? or he must buy a fan to attach on it? he got a 350watt psu btw

I doubt he will reach 720/2040. That 8600GTS is already OCed out of the box added to the fact its only cooled passively(eventhough it has heatpipes) isn't going to help either.
