Sounds like you've decided already... so why ask us? I say go with the scythe mugen II cooler. Near the same performance for a fraction of the price.

Out of those the Megahalems, but look into a Corsair H50.

I'd actually go for the Tuniq purely on the promising reviews on Frostytech.

Supposedly the Thermalright Ultima Extreme can be significantly better when lapped, but as this is secondhand rumor, I'm not entirely sure if this is true.

Yes, we all know that the Frsotytech is the no. 1 site for reviewing CPU Coolers in which Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme comes at the top position, agreed

but when im seeing it's reviews on other sites too so the story is completely changed there as this cooler comes in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th in different hardware reviews sites

I am completely baffled.

TRUE 120 ^ Maybe frostytech isn't #1.....................................heck i've never even heard of it...........in the end they're all like .5 degrees away from each other or something it's not important, your case airflow and mobo are.

I own one, and with two decent fans i've gotten my qx6700 quad from 2.66ghz to 4.3ghz stable. But, ya, airflow in the case and how you position the heat sink are important factors too.

Around 70C, before hand I ran an OC with the stock cooler at 80C+ without any issues lmao for 3 years. Could just be the resilient chip.

From what I understand, a lapped Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme would probably be the best, but the difference between that and the megahelm would probably be pretty small.

Don't buy into the whole lapping thing. The bottom is about as polished and even as it's going to get right out of the box. And tests show that the Mugen 2 beats the TRUE when you use identical fans on each one. I would recommend the Mugen 2 with two good 120mm x 38mm fans attached to it...

Really? Meh, i've been running my CPU at 80C before that for almost 3 years. No problems or stability problems at all. Sure i'm shaving a few years off the 10-15 normal life span of the CPU, but who gives, i won't use it for that long.

Lapping isn't supposed to make the surface smoother... it gets rid of the convex or concave surface(s) which lowers thermal conductivity between the CPU and heatsink.
