Hello guys, can you tell me which one will be better to buy, i5 8400 and gtx 1070 or i7 7700k and gtx 1060

The first combo is the new platform (maybe dead end, but it's new), and of course GTX 1070 will get you more fps in games. But what price can you get it for?

@PfizersaurusRex: i decided i7 7700k gtx 1070 , 600wat, Z170e , 8GB DDR4 Ram, 1tb ssd for 1470$ i dont really know about pc and prices... is it good price or is it good combo?

@shakoc: No reason to get 7700K now that 8000 series is here. Get 2x8GB ram and if you need to save some money save it by getting a hybrid drive.

8700K is better than 7700K in every way. When you compare 8400 and 7700K, 7700K will give you more fps in most games today, but 8400 is 6 cores and can be replaced with a better CPU, unlike 7700K, which is the end of the line.

8400, quad core suck with AC Origins for example.

Buying an old platform is dumb.

Get the 8400 and 1070

what about i7 8700 or i7 8700k and 1070, its better than i5 8400 and 1070

@shakoc: 7700K offers better single core performance than the 8400 and is overclockable. So, it is better for games that do not use many cores. 8400 has more cores, but lacks hyper-threading and can not be overclocked. 8700K is by far the best option if you can afford it as it offers everything.

i would say the 7700K and the 1070... it's what i run

This will get you great FPS in gaming as both CPUs aren't as different as both GPUs
