Hey, I've been around computers for about 7 or 8 years now and I really only know the basics. I've been curious about getting more into computers and wanting to build a really good gaming computer. So, I was wondering, is there somewhere someone can lead me to about being able to build one? Maybe a beginners guide and maybe a site on all the newest and best hardware to buy?

It may be awhile before I can save the money to do this, but I'd really like to.

Well, picking components cannot be done more than a month out from the actual ordering. Today's best stuff might very well be next month's bargain bin grabs, or even completely pointless since they're more expensive than newer and better parts.

Researching building your own computer is a good thing though. Corsair's website has some good step-by-step guides, and there are plenty of video tutorials on Youtube worth checking out.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose it's something I'll have to research on my own instead of somebody just telling me what one site they use.

Try: http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/pc-building/ http://www.pcmech.com/byopc/ Both have great guys with inclusive images. I also recommend signing up over at OCForums.com, great group of people (sometimes) who will help you out with any problems you encounter.

Start with reading hardware review sites like tomshardware.com or anandtech.com. They have great HW reviews and can gove you an idea of what items are needed to build a good gaming PC.
