Is this a laptop? MMMMMMMMMM, any one have the stats for a 7950 GTX go? Laptop video cards differe in stats for Desktops.. If I had to guess I would say most definitly yes..
Your title confuses me because you said you didn't open it.. First if you are having laggy performance.. Make sure your drivers are up to date.
theres drivers for the card on the nvidia site, the drivers are for 6, 7, 8 series cards. I dont think yours would be much different just because its a laptop card. Id go for the beta driver, the latest one seems to be very good.
How much have you tried changing around settings? Its possible that it just simply doesnt want to run that well, on that system, although that looks unlikely... thats a very nice laptop! How much was it?
Is your laptop overheating? Usually laptops have bad cooling which leads to crashes or very large lag spikes.Swiftstrike5
Luckily that can be fixed alot of times with the purchase of a $30 fan base to attach to the laptop to increase air flow.
I'm running into problems playing the game on vista 32bit. Once the cutscene finishes where the guys plane goes down and the bioshock logo comes up,my screen goes black and then says bioshock.exe encountered a problem and needed to shut down. i"ve tried installing the 32bit vista driver but it says that it cant find any software compatible with my hardware. My graphics card is a Geforce 8600M GT. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to laptopvideo2go.com and download thier drivers. After downloading them from there Bioshock for me ran well while before it was sluggish.
Do what this guy says.. It seems that you may have outdated drivers..
I have a P4 3.6 and it runs crystal smooth.. of course my vid card is a 8800 GTS 640.. Alkpaz
... He is using a Laptop.. Granted you have a better video card his one is still very very very good, and his processor is better... I should see no reason why he couldn't play this game, it has to be the drivers.
i cant feel any difference like on the outside, it feels normal, but like ya its odd, like when u enter rapture, its all good then lag/skip all good then lag/skip...........
as for drivers ummmm do they work on Geforce go cards, as i know other drivers dont, secondly i know for a fact that they are outdated or something i mean everytime i boot up CSS it states they are out of date.
Also for some odd reason when u lower it to medium settings lol it seems to lag even more wtf?
