Hey. I'm looking to build a upper mid-range gaming computer for 800-1000 bucks. I'm going to build it on my own, but if anyone knows a good pre-built one for that much, that'd be great. I don't have a lot of preferences, and little knowledge of superiority in brand names and what not. I'd like to be able to run Battlefield 3 on this computer, but with this budget, I don't know if anyone can make it happen. Advice on parts to buy, anything of that sort would help a lot. Thanks.

1) do you need any fixings (a copy of windows, mouse, keyboard, speakers/headset, monitor?)

2) what currancy

3) build and pre-built are two completely differnet things..when one implies build they mean from a pile of parts to a full machine by your own ahnds no someone else

at 1000 bucks you can get good pre-builts but your getting ripped off 6 ways from sunday in the process while building yourself is FAR more cost effective.

however at this time dont have an idea as to what the system requirements are from bf3.. so we can exactly say if ANY pc is even capable of playing it hahha (obviously some will be how well its completely un-predictable)

I need a mouse, keyboard and a headset. I also want Windows 7. U.S. Dollars. If the system reqs for BF3 aren't up yet, I guess it being able to handle CoDBLOPS is fine.

COD BO is a really easy game to run taking into consideration the power current gen, medium to high end hardware packs. The most important thing for you to decide is whether or not your ready to give building your own rig a shot or not. If you are, we can fire off some builds and then we can make ammends until we get it right. If not, your not going to get as much out of your computer (building your self is in every way, more cost effective), but you'll still get a decent rig with that budget.

I dunno, i wouldnt trust a diablotek psu. Their psus are generally low quality or are overrated wattages.

^^ I may be shot for this but pc power and cooling has usually the best quality PSU's if you want a good one to last. More expensive, but in my opinion worth it.

Thank you sirAbsolver

I would use a site like ibuypower if you're not confidant building your own. Learning to build a PC can be pretty hectic if you don't own a good PC to begin with and don't really understand the parts and the wiring.

Pc power & cooling are still around, owned by ocz, but they still sell psus under their name.
