If price really isnt an issue and your stuck on LCD, you want the Sony XBR4 or 5 when it comes out. Heres the 4: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0770HDS0010092827&catid I'm Canadian so if your in the states you can probably find it cheaper, but that is the **** as far as LCD's are concerned. P.S. You should buy a Plasma IMO

Bingo!!

I got the Sony XBR4 2 days ago - and it is amazing. Best quality picture by far when comparing to other LCD screens.

For gaming, LCD is the way to go. LCD is the way to go for most things either way - Plasma is quite outdated in its technology and LCD is the current leader in picture quality - especially with the newer range of HDTV's.

Also, have a look at Samsung, Panasonic, LG or other cheaper brands.

That's an opinion I disagree with. The best technology currently would be plasma and demolishes LCD in EVERY meaningful category.(IMO) The Pioneer project Kuro panels are the best HDTV on the market and that is not an opinion, it's just a fact.

P.S. Panasonic no longer make LCD's bigger than 32 inches as they believe it is an inferior technology to Plasma.

Try the Sceptre brand, they've got a fairly decent amount of tvs in the 20"-46" range, I have two and can say both the 37" and 32" are very nice looking with the 37" having 2 ports for HDMI.

I have the XBR5 52 and I would suggest if you go Bravia don't go with anything less than the XBR series, otherwise you get better value with other sets.

I can say this: Plasma still has the best picture in terms of color accuracy and truest blacks but LCD is not that far behind, in fact probably just 1/2 step behind. But I have switched out my plasmas and a DLP set for all LCDs thru-out my home. LCD is a long time proven technology that no one can argue against for its longevity and durability and this is where plasma is catching up.

If not an XBR then go with Sharp Aquos or a Samsung. Sony's non XBRs are not worth their pricetags.
