My buddy and I were talking, and as the weather is getting colder, we would both like an RTS so we can have some epic battles online. We are both in our 30's and don't always have a lot of free time.

Are there any RTS's that will allow us to "pause" the game and come back to it later? What I'm looking for is something where we can completely exit the game and come back later to pick up our battle where we left off. Ideas?

This may be a common feature. I have no idea. I'm just getting back into PC games after a few years off.

A Total War game can be paused online, and in Sins of a Solar Empire, you can actually save the game and come back later. Both are great games, too. :)

Sound like SoaSE has what I'm looking for then. It's not really the type of RTS I wanted to play, but I'll check out the demo and see what I think. Thanks.

Well if you want a good online RTS, I'd recommend Company of Heroes. SOASE is a great RTS, but it is a little too slow-paced. It's similar to SupCom, if you played that. So yeah, play the demo.

Does Company of Heros allow you to save online games?

Nope :(. Soase is what you are looking for. I don't like it much because I hate space games, but if you want to be able to continue online the game you started, Soase is your best choice.

No, but it is my favourite online RTS.
