Help! COD4 lod is awfull

Everything in this game looks good from up close but when you move a few meters away the object loose polygons, and there are alot of pop ins.

Is there a command , or something that i can tweak to stop this?

Are you playing SP or MP? The LOD is much worse for me in MP than in SP, and Im running both at max setting.

yes i am playing single player. i have just tried multiplayer and the lod is awfull aswell

COD 2 is very similar command wise. try some of these commands

r_lodBias

r_lodScale

might not be exactly the same, just start typing in the console and commands will come up.

What are pop-ins, what does it mean to lose poligons, and what is LOD? :S

For the record, I've been playing FPS's since Wolfenstein 3D, but I still dunno what this thread's all about lol....:?

I believe a Pop-In is something similar to a Oompa Loompa........

a ''pop in'' is when a object appears in front of you, but in call of duty this happens when you are a few metters away, so lets say you walk on the road and rocks just apear on it as you go.

a character or an object is created by many polygons, when it looses polygons it makes the object less detailed (for example a round object looks like a pentagon)

lod (level of detail)
