Im recently trying to get into professionally recording music, ive written a lot of songs, but my mic sucks. when i try to record with it only the left stereo picks up and static is unbearable, even after cleaning the track. I have a decent onboard sound card, and im looking for a mic under $100 that sounds good. i heard good things about usb mics, but i just need quality regardless of input format. please help thanks.

I think you need to rethink what you are doing. You're asking for advice about recording music on a gaming forum, you're in the wrong place. I don't know where you would get the best responses and advice but I doubt you'll get it here.

Have fun
