i have windows vista home premium and i decided to create a new account. i click the " add or remove user accounts" button and nothing appears. i tried restarting the computer and clicking on it again and nothing works. i discovered that when i go into the control panel and try to click on the buttons that have a shield with red,green,blue, and yellow colors beside it nothing happens. every other buttons work its the buttons with the shield that dont reply. this is also happening when i try to install games. so far i tried two games they where oblivion and warcraft 3. when i put in the disk nothing happens so i go to my computer and right click on the drive and then click install, nothing happens still. this all started when i deleted my account and started to create a new one on vista. does anyone know how to fix this problem it is really bugging me and i want to stop it soon. please reply thanks
thank you for replying. i don't think its trying and its really annoying i cant play any games or anything all i can do is go on the Internet. my account is administrator. and do you know when you install a game, something is supposed to pop up asking you to continue or cancel but that doesn'tcome up anymore. if anyone else knows anything please respond this is really irritating.
yeah, just cus it says your administrator doesnt mean you are. you are at vista's mercy. go to the user accounts page for your account and click to turn off User Account Control, if you can
i cant find how to turn off user account control. when i click on user accounts and family safety it shows me user accounts and under that it says: change your account picture, change your windows password and add or remove user accounts but when i click on add or remove user accounts nothing happens because the shield is beside it. what should i do next?
thanks for the help. i just tried what you said but it wont work because the shield is beside it. is there anyway to find out how tounlock the administrator account like you said above?
i have tried the site and the first option but there is an error that occurs often and it says:
"The system could not find the environment option that was entered"
does anyone know what this error means and how to fix it? please respond i really want to start playing games and im bored as hell. thanks alot to those who reply.
