Resolution?

Hummm, what settings have you tried?

To be honest I dont think the Pentium D is going to cut the mustard. Also with Vista I would recommend more RAM.

4670? Good luck. Turn the res down real low and you should be able to play with mostly "high" settings, but turn the effects/water/other superfluous options all to medium. That should get it somewhere around playable... also, it's probly worth mentioning if ur CPU is single or dual core.

Pentium D is single core, and known to be pretty bad for games :( sorry to say.

A good program to find out info on your CPU is CPUZ

It also gives info on RAM and motherboard, pretty useful tool

I haven't really tried much tweaking yet, but I was able to get mostly medium settings with objects on high with the resolution at 1280 by 960. With the only major slow downs being when I'd enter a place with a lot of buildings, like in the 2nd level when you have to get the hostage in the school. Also how do you make it so you can see what the framerate is when you are playing the game?

Actually Pentium D is a dual core.

To see the framerate open the console ( ~ ) and type r_displayinfo 1.

Pentium D IS NOT A SINGLE CORE

Pentium D stands for Pentium Dual-Core

Please do not post about information that you do not know about.

So, would a new processor go a long way in getting this game way more playable? I know my card is mid-line but I've read that it can play Crysis on high settings.

Maybe at 1024x768... 1280x1024 would be pushing it.

Your CPU is really dated, another 2.0gbs of ram would help, and your GPU is pretty decent.

I would pick up a e5200 or e7200. If your motherboard supports them.

I can run crysis on high at 1024x768. with the lower specs than the TC.
