Why pre-order a digital game? It's not like they can sell out.
I was just gonna say the same thing...lol. Regardless of benefits I would never preorder a digital game lol.
Sometimes they offer major perks like with Bioshock 2 you got Bioshock 1 for free which is nice if you did not own it. I have seen some nice dicounts for pre ordering as well.[QUOTE="Steameffekt"]

Good point. Never even thought of that. Good thing the only pre-order I have for steam was Bad Company 2.[QUOTE="Steameffekt"]

Because most of the time they give you a discount, free game or in game bonuses... so if you're going to buy the game anyway, why not? Plus sometimes they let you preload the game and you can play it the second it's released.

thats why i always pre-order games i know im gonna buy eventually anyway. ingame bonuses are nice but being pre-loading is what i like, being able to play a game at 1 minute past midnight on the day a game is released is what digital downloads are all about. Are you certain? I think I usually get charged right away on Steam, but not on Impulse. I also cancelled my Lead and Gold preorder.. so bad..The transaction hasn't been made yet, so there's no reason why you can't cancel. Contact their support.

Sorry, I must not have been clear. I was asking if they hold the actual transaction until the release of the game, and as I thought, they charge you right away. I just checked my statement. I was charged 13.49 for preordering Lead and Gold, and I got a credit for 13.49 when I cancelled my preorder.I don't buy games on steam anymore. Licences aren't worth paying full price for considering you don't technically own the game. If anything it's more like an indefiniterental. Also, Steam's return policy is messed up. Everything's just "too bad" with them. I understand not allowing you to return a game that's already out, but I can't understand why they wouldn't let you cancel a pre-order. That's just ridiculous.
