I am trying to set up this mod to play GTAIV and am following this guide (http://au.pc.gamespy.com/pc/grand-theft-auto-iv/1185388p1.html) to work on my steam version.

I am on Stage 1 at the middle where it says to make a shortcut for LauncherGTAIV....I cant find that file in the entire game directory. Wat did you guys do at this step?

the latest iCehancer supports patch 1070, the same as the steam version. There's really no need to downgrade

If you have the steam version it will auto update to the newest version. If not just google GTAIV 1.0.7 or whatever it is and download and install. Its very straight forward. Then unzip the iCEnhancer mod to your desktop. Copy everything from there. then go to (on mine it's) computer/hard drive C/program files x86/rockstargames/GTAIV and paste everything from the iCEnhancer folder in there. If it asks to replace files then click yes. But back them up if you want. Then the mod should work in game. That is all I did and it works for me. You will know when its working cos it will appear in the top left saying "icenhancer" or whatever at the start screen. Good luck

Thank you! Didn't realize that it was this simple. I got it up and running!! Is there any other mods that i can add to this one to make it an even better experience? Like custom cars and better texture if possible?

Get the "Better city textures" they're the best I think.

ICE enhancer uses the latest version of ENBSeries, the same version that was pulled from the ENB wesite because it was known to damage peoples video cards, just a friendly word of advice.

Unfortunately this is the only version that works with the latest patch for gtaiv.

Straight from the ENBseries website:

"0.082 Beta for GTA4 removed. Strongly recommended to not use it for yoursafety"

and

"GTA4 0.082 Beta - limited temporary version (removed, the reason is possible videocard corruption)"

This mod uses 0.82 Beta, if your video card dies, this ^ is probably why.

They have to do that to cover their asses. If even one person reports back that the mod melted their card then its clearly gonna be taken down. On the "read me" for the mod it states that damage can happen to certain cards, yes. But everyone knows you should be monitoring your temps for everything anyway. Its common sense. Its not because its highly dangerous to use. Its only dangerous when you don't watch out for certain signs. Its obviously not so bad if my 560 can handle it at 60 odd degree (Varies depending on heat in the room). Older cards do have a tough time with it though. Such as the 8800 cards. Also note the "possible" GPU corruption. Simple solution, run the mod, if your card gets overly hot then stop using the mod.
