Does this sound familiar to empire total war players. I was half way thru the campaign really getting the hang of it and having fun when all of a sudden i'm informed i'm bankrupt and 8 grand in the hole! Is this the dreaded campaign killer I read so much about. They fixed england and now this!

no answers on the board. I wonder if this is related to the new patch that came monday. Fix one glitch raise another, people who have tried {and failed } to play this game are probably tired of hearing it. Maybe its time for Sega to write it off and time for us the paying public to write them off.

How big is your army? Large armies cost a lot. And i know a patch made armies more expensive.

Are you an absolute monarchy?

CA, in all their wisdom, made Republic the most overpowered system of government. I went from earning 300 a turn to 6000 a turn after switching from an absolute monarchy to a republic.

My Russian campaign has nearly 84 regions, as an absolute monarchy, and I'm only earning 43k a turn, while someone with only about 35 has nearly 183405000 in his treasury because he's a republic (not joking). I actually found a pic of his republic here...

It was Madoff's fault wasn't it. 150 years ain't enough for his scams against your European superpower!

Did you set your government type to "communist"? Or perhaps you set your economic system to "Ponzi scheme"? I know those can cause financial problems.

Either that, or maybe it's because your army is too large and they are costing you way too much money. Who would have thought that feeding thousands of troops would be so expensive? There should be a way to invent robotic soldiers that don't require food, so you don't have to pay money to upkeep them.Either that, or you should have your soldiers eat at McDonald's. Getting food there is so cheap, it's practically free. I mean, your troops will be unhappy with you because who really wants to eat 3 big macs a day for a year? Plus they will probably all gain 200 lbs and get coronary artery disease, but you'll save a lot of money.

I meet the same. When you upkeep you troop too much after the battle. And you have a big army, liitle resources. YES it goes bankrupt! I'm playedGB and control all India,HalfEroupe and all american and I have 25000 perturn by the end of the year 1960, and I even have more than 100000. Bankrupt happens alot when you first start the game.

I have found that if I stick with only a few armies to start and expand towns/armies slowly I can still be a fighting force to be reckoned with and expand territory fast enough to keep my income up. My first 2 times I was constantly bankrupt quickly, but then I Got the hang on how to pick and choose what to build/recruit. Now games are a bit more fun, though I seem to be expanding too slowly :/
