Help intalling new psu dell xps 400

hello, i just got a coolermaster 500 psu, im taking out my dell xps 375 psu and putting this in...i have a 8800gts 320 and i feel its underpowered....anybody know how this will work considering i might need an adapter?

You wouldnt need an adapter unless it didnt come with a 6 pin PCI-e connector, which most do. I think it would be ok, however I think more is recommended if you ever sli.

Is the PSU the same size as your PSU in your DELL? It really depends if it will even enter your PC.

its not the size im worried about..its the connections to the motherboard.

You'll be worried if you have all the connections, but you can't fit it in your computer.

So just check what connectors your have on your XPS motherboard.

I'm sure you XPS manual and PSU manual can clear everything up.

Yeah make sure it will fit, but I dont know what your worring about... make sure it has sata power connectors if you have sata, make sure you have molex connectors, and make sure it has one or two 6 pin PCI-e power connectors. Almost all mobo's now are 24pin ATX, so you should be fine, but as said above, make sure it fits.

psus are universal even connectors and everything

500w psus are superior than 375s...no reason it will be missing some connectors

relax......

yeah they still make PSU's without PCI-e connectors and without sata power connectors, so they arent all the same.
