Sry for the double post. I've always thought GeForce was a brand of NVidia's, but now I'm seeing GeForce cards from other manufacturers, like XFX, Zogis, and stuff like that. Could somebody explain? Once again, thanksLuwker
Nvidia makes the reference card, and other companies take the card and do stuff with it like OC it or bundle it with other stuff like games or add differnt fans, etc. And what you should be looking into when buying a card is
A) That it is compatible with your mother board (i.e. PCIe or AGP cards)
B) That its a card MEANT for gaming (in nvidia its usually the cards that have x600 or more.)
Since you want it to play spore im not shure what the requirements for that would be but i would be looking into some of the newer cards that will be releasing soon just to be shure.
Sorry about the amount of questions, it's just that I'm completely new to these things. What do you mean when you say x600?Luwker
Any card whether it be the 6600+ or 7600+ or 8600+ are all meant for gaming. The x is a variable. Add the number there. Since your computer is so old, you have an AGP slot. Only look for AGP slots. The best card for AGP is a 7900GS, but since your CPU/RAM are bad, it will bottleneck your system, meaning it will still run slow. I suggest you gather some money, since Spore is coming late 2008, and buy yourself a cheap computer that is under $1000 but is good for gaming.

For example take the nvidia 9600.
The 9 stands for the family series
The 600 stands for what its meant for (600 and up are meant for gaming.)
People say a lot about women in Brazil, but if you want the truth, here it is: There are a lot of beatiful women here, but 90% of them aren't Brazilian Hot, "big stuff", like the kinda stuff you'd hear about in a 50 Cent song, but are mostly European/American hot, blonde and brown hair.Luwker
Um... What?
Welll the only factors that affects whether or not you can run a graphics card is you motherboard. But if you get the best of anything you would feel a real setback with the rest of your components. A 2.0 cpu might be fine if it were dual core, but even then it would hold you back. You might also want to upgrade to a total of 2GB of ram. Penguin_dragonHow much would that cost on average? Prices in dollars are OK, I just want some reference

Filmography commented that since I live in Brazil I get to see hot women in bikinis all the time, I was just getting him up to par witht the women. Sorry about the off-topicLol sorry i didnt read his topic and I was really confused. And a mother boardboard should be anywhere from $50-100 for single card setup and higher if you want sli. 1 GB of ram can be close to $30 depeinding on what kind. And a decent dual core CPU can cost around $100. The video can also be around $200 or less, but the thing to keep in mind is that prices are constantly falling , so the more you could postpone getting new parts the better price-performance ratio youll get.
