hd 4850:
WoW (done in nexus 1440 x 900 maxium quality full multisample aa&af @ x4)
45(low)-(highest)79 fps
dawn of war 2 (maxed out same aa & af same resolution physix off)
low of 39fps

Guys to be honest the 4870 and 260 GTX are on a similar level of performance for the most part. however, those cards don't have DirectX 11 which to be honest really isn't that big of a deal because no real blockbuster DirectX 11 games will come out until next year. The 4870 though is the best bang for the buck. So I'll give a nod to the 4870 ;)

I'll give my vote to ATI Rage 3D. It is the best bang for buck as of now and is faster than GTX285 by a small margin. Although it doesn't support DX11 it is a super fast card and is a clear choice in this situation.

Ok smarty pants you wanna play that game ok we can play. First of all he said a gtx 260 not a gtx260 216. A 1 gig HD4870 is faster than the normal gtx260. Second you don't know what your talking about so before you wanna be the "cool guy" that knows everything get you facts strait and educate yourself here! http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-4870,1964.html. And the HD 4870has better value for performence than any GTX 260 out there so go ahead a spend more money but think of this when you buy a gtx 260, You Fail
