What's the headset for? Skype? PC gaming? Console gaming? Films? As the sticky says, a decent set of headphones will sound much better.

The JVC HARX700 is a great headphone and you can get a clip-on Zalman mic with it for $41.06 combined on Amazon (look under, "Frequently Bought Together").

Check out the Headphone FAQ for additional detail.

Happy gaming,

Boz

That's a matter of personal preference. In this case, though, I don't think there's a decent open-back headphone in the $40 to $60 range that competes with the JVC HARX700. Happy gaming, Boz

I wouldn't recommend buying either of those headphones for that price, as there are better headphones available at the same price point. Does a built in microphone matter to you? How's the quality of the mic you currently have (assuming you have one)? Are you willing to buy a separate mic? For $60, in my opinion, you can buy a better quality set of headphones and a separate mic.

Superlux HD668B/Samson SR850? I know you can get SR850s within that price range, and those who have them have nothing but praise for them. I haven't sampled them or the HA-RX700, though, so I'm not one to make comparisons.
