I was just wondering if you guys can convince my dad to buy my family a new computer. Basicly to sum up for you my family computer is the sweet dell dimension L700cx I think its like 6-7 years old and for some reason its never broken down. It runs on the crapiest operating system know to man kind *drumroll* windows me. The processer on it is 700mhz it has 356mb of ram and forget the gpu. For some reason my dad won't buy a new computer I think becuase he doesn't know how bad the pc is because His company suplies him with a nice dell laptop with 2gb of ram so on and so on. So he never uses our desktop pc at all. Anyways I was hopping you guys can help me convince my dad to buy a new computer for the family. I just found out my computer is useless because Steam doesnt support CS 1.6 :cry:.
tell him you need microsoft word and it only runs on computers that work with vista, although I hope you know how to build a computer, doesn't sound like anyone in your family does.
lol If no one in your family knows what they're doing with computers just go and download a ton of viruses so the computer really doesn't work anymore and tell him the easiest way to fix it is to get a new computer :P

Don't just asume that I want a pc for gaming becuase thats what I dont need for I would like to edit videos for youtube and use other apps plus look at my sig dumbass I have a 360. Ihave done everything in the past say 2-3 years ago We always got virus form downloading music and all he did was wipeout thewhole hdd and re installed the operatin system. My dad knows that word inst slowon my computer and it works on windows me. My dad for one isnt a dumbass he is aChemical Engineer and has a Bachelors Degree from Penn State

And bully for you if you do have a 360 - I don't see how that pertains to anything. Also, if your father is not a dumbass (like a degree means anything but you can stay awake in class), then why are you second-guessing him on whether or not you need a computer? He obviously knows what's best.

Nobody said your dad is a 'dumbass' im sure he is intelligent enough to sit down and listen to you put-forward a legit point, in that the pc sucks and you need amore updated system.
It's hardly like your'e figuring out how to con him into buying you a pair of 8800Ultra's. Your system is very aged. The PC could actually die on you at any minute; 7years is a longtime, nevertheless it will probably last much longer if you carry on taking good care of it.
ps. please don't be so agressive. He wasnt looking for an arguement.
