It disabled my virus protection and keeps advertising for Win 7 Security 2012. I can use any of my software. Sorry if this isn't the correct forums mod, please move post if you have to because I need serious help.

What can I do to clean my computer of this threat?

Does it work on all these ##@! viruses?

EDIT: The virus wont even let me install or use most of my software, lucky I got my browser working somehow.

Restore it to a prior system image in boot up.

the malwarebytes didn't take care of it. Isn't restoring just a bandaid and not getting rid of the problem?

Edit: almost like running malwarebytes made it angry... it's worse now.

Thx

open up the task manager and see if you can find the process. Do a search for it, open the location and manually delete it.

you should be careful not to accept any installations before you make sure its what you want in the future. 2 best options are to run in safe mode, try running Malware bytes, and a different antivirus program. Something like avast will be more than good enough. You could also try avg. Also you could try restoring the computer to an earlier point un time.

Hey guys just an update here...

I was able to get the darn thing off my PC. I used ComboFix first... then MalwareBytes and then SuperAnitSpyware.

ComboFix was the one that really got it off my pc but then I ran the other 2 just to clean up anything left over. My PC is running a lot faster now.

I had to reinstall MSE because the virus completely deleted it and took over. What a pain.

I do suggest those three programs but be sure to get them from a reputable DL website.

I want to thank you all for your suggestions and help.

Happy Holidays

As of right now my sister is also going through this. The process is called pue*32, it did irreversible damage. Can't fall back on a restore point. So I have to reformat it for her. MSE got rid of it and I manually deleted it but the damage has been done.

After the virus did it's thing, when you went to open..say your internet browser of choice did a window pop up and say open with? as if the pc didn't know it was there? also right clicking on the taskbar and opening taskmanager gave an error saying the exe didn't exist.

It was trying to get me to buy Windows 7 security. It blocked most of my programs/browsers from being used etc.

Have you tried CombiFix?

Glad to hear it worked out for you. At least you knew not to buy the 'software'. Had a lot of friends that do end up buying it. I try to teach as many as I can.

All it does is make me mad... I would never give them a penny! Never!
