my pc freezes once or twice while playing games (all games) and then it restarts, then it comes up with an error messege thats says i have recoverd from a serious error. I cant tell why this is happening my average temp. is 95 degrees. and i have a AMD athlon 2.0 ghz, 1gb of ddr ram, 2 80 gb 7200 rpm harddrives, an nvidia 6200, and 3 case fans. i also have a 250 watt power supply. Is this a power problem or somthing else. I am getting a new power supply so if that is the case then it will soon be solved.

It sounds like you need a new power supply. 250 watts doesnt seem like it'd be enough to power all that.

In the mean time remove 1 drive and see if it still happens, it probably is, how old is the PSU and do you have it on a lot? Is that 95 Celsius?

ya for now try and remove the other things u dont really need and see if it stops the pc from restarting, its got to be ur psu 250 watts is way too small u can get a 600 watt for 70 bucks, but u can probaly get a 500 or even 450 and still be safe with those specs

What is your error message? The error message you get points you towards the hardware that is at fault.

Yah, the one without windows on it..........and if you can later switch to one drive and one for backup in an external enclosure just in case of lightning strikes or power spikes. Reduces power consumption and makes it easy to take off with your important information in case of fire or an emergency  OMG you must be getting traumatized right now :P

The serious error thing makes me think it is a software problem. Try a clean boot and see if it crashes http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 .

Unfortunately considering your drivers aren't used in safe mode it is very difficult to play games on it.

Hmm........what if the 6200 is one of those on-board GPUs that doesn't have a heatsink it could be overheating :? I know some crappy companies like ECS don't put heatsinks on things like that sometimes.

Try getting some canned air and blowing out all the heatsinks in your computer.

If you buy a new PSU, make sure you buy one with decent name on the box. (Antec, Corsair, OCZ, etc). Cheap PSU's, no matter how many watts they claim to have, are never a good thing.

if it is not a hardware problem, it could just be your soundcard, u could just lower the hardware acceleration in the sound settings to basic.....

i had the same problem in my old pc...., it was similiar to your pc, while running games, it restarted and showed me the same message...
