I slowly upgrading my computer but if i had sufficient money to buy a new desktop computer, i will.  But today i have a rig of this:

CPU: P4 2.0Ghertz

GPU: 256mb nvidi geforce 5500

RAM: 1G

What should i upgrade first... I play LOTR: Battle for Middle earth 2, at first, the game run fast but when i have many army... the game run slow.  From my rig... what should i upgrade first... should i upgrade first my CPU, GPU or my RAM?

Your CPU worries me a bit...if that is a prebuilt system using a 400mhz FSB for the processor, then your upgrade options at the CPU are going to be extremely limited, and so are your other upgrade options, because your CPU will begin to bottleneck and you won't be able to do anything about it.
We need to know more about your system. What is the FSB for your processor? Is that GPU PCI or AGP? What speed is that RAM?

Well, no, not really. Even for a p4, 2 GHz is as slow as they come. I can see why you would have lag on BFMEII, Controlling AI opponents is a CPU job. Well, I'm guessing you don't have a socket LGA775, sooo Im not sure what I can recommend for a CPU. You could try OC'ing but if it's a Dell or prebuilt, don't bother...

cpu first. bc if you get a nice vid card, that cpu will mess it all up. and 1 gig of ram is fine for even the best games out. so cpu, then vid card, then ram in a year or so

Before you do that, you absolutely must check what your Front Side Bus is. If you have a Dell prebuilt (which I suspect you do), then you almost certainly have a motherboard that supports only one FSB speed. With that slow of a processor, it is likely that it is 400mhz (as I mentioned earlier), and you can only upgrade up to like 2.4 ghz. I know this because I had the same problem with my system. No matter what, though, do some research on your motherboard. You need to make sure that you know what FSB speeds it accepts, and also whether it will accept Prescott processors, or only Northwood (another issue I had). Do your homework...or else you'll get burned. Socket type is NOT the only criteria that needs to be matched up.

Well, if you're only going to do one, then do the video card. That upgrade will give you the most improvement for your buck.

I just responded to your PM, but in case anyone else is following this thread who has similar issues, that motherboard is far far better than what I expected you had. It accepts FSB speeds up to 800mhz (which is probably what the processor you're looking at has...if it has only 533, look for one with 800 - it'll be faster), which is awesome for your upgrade situation. Also, it says that it is Prescott compatible, which is good as well. Looks like you're set to go. Upgrade away!

No prob. That's actually essentially the same board I have, except mine is Abit's version of that chipset. I've liked it so far...it's pretty speedy (I upgraded from a 2.0ghz to a 3.2ghz).

Yeah, there's still hope! lol. Still, since you have a wider range of CPU's to choose from, I would pick the 7600GT and as soon as you have the money to spring, get a 3.2 or 3.0 GHz CPU and you should have a fairly decent gaming rig. For BFME at least..

He is very right...it's not going to be any kind of world-beater, but it will play anything out there right now. My rig can run anything I throw at it on medium to high settings, and I'm still running single channel DDR2700 RAM leftover from my old system and I have a 6800XT instead of the 7600GT you're looking at. I don't know if you're going to go running Crysis when it comes out, but you'll be solid for any curren tgames.
