Umm... that was kinda what I meant when I said: "Problem is, how do you update the bios if the CPU won't let you...."
See you're not seeing anything on the monitor because the CPU isn't posting.... Without the CPU working, nothing works. That includes your video card.... See, you gota chicken or the egg, scenero. Most often this problem doesn't happen. Most often the motherboard will use a default underclock setting that will allow a Higher speed CPU's to still post and thus will allow you to update the bios or to manual set the correct mhz and multiplier. What you have is a CPU that doesn't want to work at that lower clockspeed that the motherboard is defaulted to. So... about the only thing you can do is get yourself a CPU that is compatible with the bios... Update the bios, and then you can plug in that Phenom II CPU, and be on your merry way. I just figured that the board was DOA..... because more often than not... the CPU will underclock and post. Which will then allow you to update the bios and get you to that official higher clock speed.
Your best bet, if you haven't done it already... is to either take it to a computer repair shop and have them update the bios. (What they will do is use an older CPU). Or you can spend about 40 bucks for a bottom end CPU, and try it yourself... But if that Board is DOA then it's all for nothing.
Probably the first thing you should do is tell that motherboard company that you got in contact with. And tell themthat the CPU won't post; which means that it's impossible to update tothe compatible bios. And see what response they give you. If the motherboard is known for that... then the optionsin my previous paragraph may be the best things to try. (heh... probably cost the same, too...)
