Hey I'm currently reformatting my computer and I was looking around inside it and after I was done I went to boot up my computer and it said the boot drive wasn't detected. So I restarted tried to go into BIOS but it just said hard drive disk missing. Now earlier I had knocked out the cable and the exact same thing happened however I checked the cable I had knocked out and it is intact and I reconnected it. I found 2 cables that were disconnected that might be the problem one is a unused cable for an extra cd rom drive and the other is the problem I think but I have no clue where it goes. It has small black and yellow wires going into it and has 8 little holes on the other end :S. if anyone knows if this is causing the problem if I have a different problem or where this thing goes then please help!

Most probably the small one you are telling will be for the floppy drive (which is totally defunct nowdays nobody use a Floppy drive) and about your HDD detection in BIOS do one thing see the SATA data or the IDE cable are intact on their spots on ur MB ( bcoz u didnt write whether you are having SATA HDD OR PATA HDD ) and also check they are not cut or have any marks on them also check the power connectors of your HDD, I hope it help , if you again having any prob just let me know
