Run a virus scan, check your startup config. Windows key+R, msconfig.exe, enter. Look for suspicious items. Google what items that you don't know what they are.

What's the name of the folder? Did it start appearing after you installed any applications? What OS are you using? If you are at all technical, I suggest using Autoruns by Sysinternals (now a part of Microsoft) to troubleshoot startup issues. It will show you EVERYTHING. If you are using Vista you could try Windows Defender. I think it allows troubleshooting startup issues as well. Another tool that could help you pinpoint a malicious startup process would be HijackThis by Trend Micro. You can get it from Trend Micro or cnet. There are a couple of websites where you can upload your HijackThis log and they will help you try to figure out which entries may be malicious. Two HijackThis log analyzers that I've used are http://www.hijackthis.de/ and http://hjt.networktechs.com/.

What is the name of the folder. What is the path of the folder. If it is just appearing there is an executable somewhere starting it. Just because I wonder check your prefetch folder for ave.exe

The file name is 'Central01', which is the same name as another folder I created to store all my files. (Just like a backup, but not sorted) I cant really be sure if it's the shutdowns and start ups that creates it, as the folder didn't appear for some start ups. (Sorry for not replying for some time, the folder did not appear for some time as I'm using hibernate instead of shut down which did not create the folder as frequently as shut down)
