HELP! Vista Disk wont Recognize on my PC!!

OK i have Vista Home Premeium DVD and When i put it in my DVD Drive it wont Recognise the Disk! I take it to my Dads PC and it works just fine but when i put the disk in my PC it wont Detect it!

I have a Memorex Dual Layer DVD Burner that will burn Single and Dual layer DVD's Burn CD's and regular DVD's! When i put a different disk in like a Movie DVD it plays just fine. can anyone help me??

Hmm...maybe you could swap out your DVD drive and try to install Vista. Then if it works you could put your old DVD drive back in afterwards? Good luck with that.

I dont think my dad would like that to mutch. i just cant figure out why it wont detect the disk.

I just had the same issue. Did you get some pathing error that referred to x:\source\... ?

If so...the problem is that your DVD drive isn't liking the speed the DVD was burned at.

I reburned my DVD at the lowest speed and it fixed the issue. If you have a store bought DVD, you're only choice may be to temporarily use a diffrent DVD drive or obtain a different DVD.
