I plan on getting a 24 inch gateway monitor for christmas that scales to 1080P. I also plan on grabbing one of the new LG Blue Ray/ HD-DVDdrives for my computer. Here's the question. Since my videocard has two DVI connectors to it and my monitor has both a DVI and an HDMI connector, I was wondering about grabbing a DVI/HDMI cable that will connect my videocard to my HDMI input on my monitor, hopefully for the best picture quality possible. I've already seen the cable for about 50 bucks and I'm just wondering if it will increase the quality of the picture even thought one side is DVI.Get all that? Thanks for any input.

You should get a good picture quality with a DVI/HDMI cable, can support 1080P i believe.

I don't think you're going to be gaining much if anything over a straight DVI->DVI connection. Both signals are digital but the HDMI will carry audio as well.
