Hi,

I am interested in buying one of two PCs. They have very similar specs and price except one has an AMD X2 4400 and the other an Core2Duo E6550. Casting everything else aside, which processor is better for gaming and video encoding?

Thanks.

Not a big differance with these CPU's, but i would go for the Core2Duo E6550 for video encoding

I believe the E6550 is faster in terms of processing power.

The e6550 is far superior to the AMD. Core 2 duo for sure. Especially if you overclock it.

Hi All

Thanks for the help. I'll be getting the intel then!! It comes in a sugo 1 case, so what's the best £150(ish) graphics card I can get for gaming that won't melt my setup? I used to have a shuttle and that got really CRISPY!

Thanks.
