Help with COD2

i keep getting this error message, i bought the game almost 2 years ago, never had this error, but recently i get it. dont hack or mod or anything. whats wrong?

Well, PunkBuster is a computer program to prevent cheating in online games. This doesn't necessarily mean you're cheating but am thinking something is altered in your Call of Duty 2 folder or the shortcut properties of the game that Punkbuster doesn't like.  In my opinion, I would just uninstall and reinstall Call of Duty 2 to another directory, patch to newest version and try to play online again. If that doesn't work then perhaps, PunkBuster might see a process running in the background it doesn't like. However, I don't know the extent of PunkBuster's enter workings. So I hope it just works for you without anymore hassle.

sounds to me like uve got a command in ur config or console or something that punkbuster is detecting and kicking u for

Then why do punkbuster Detect a Wall Hack?

It means PunkBuster detected something, only solution can be to fully re-install the game, or with a other method that might work: Install America's Army (that game is also a online MP game, also has PunkBuster) and see if PunkBuster kicks you out, if yes, PunkBuster isn't doing its job right, if not: You're CoD2 files are screwed.

Another directory is another way of saying installing it into a different folder.(also try naming it differently when you install). Punkbuster should have no problem with this.

You need to edit that value of 10000 to 2048 via the console and that will fix it.

ok ill type that command in, i was looking in other threads like this from google, and i think it has to do with me trying some mods, i didnt mean to try mods, i only ment to try some new maps out, but i deleted the mods bc i didnt want them and they were lame, so im guessing thats what it is. i updates punkbuster, so if that doesnt work ill put in this command, and if that doesnt work ill reinstall i guess
