Help with fallout, i r confus

I downloaded the game off of gametap(it was free for now, like DXM) and so far its fun, just confusing. I killed the scorpians and got xp from ss. Now i need a rope to get down vault 15. Where do i get the rope? I went to junk down and there was an asasination attemp but after I killed him, it just stays in combat mode, what do i do?

Go back to Shady Sands, head over to the farm area and in the lower right hand corner there's a hut. There's a rope inside, along with some other tools.

On being stuck in combat mode, it probably means there are other enemies nearby. Either find and kill them, or leave the city.

I guess the entire town is mad at you now:| Well, that's it. Live with the consequences...

You can travel south, find another town, and buy two ropes.

If you have steal skill, there are two people in Shady Sands that you can steal a rope or buy it from. I stole it...

in the lower left hand corner you should see a box that says "end turn/combat" hit the combat portion and hopefully that will end combat for you or it will tell you why it can't end combat.

as for rope, Fats gave a god place or you can go to The Hub general store and pick up a couple for about 30 something caps
