You would want a low profile Pc that can game and be used as a multimedia system?

well i can build pc's and the size of the pc doesnot matter because it will be put in a hidden ventilated closet but i would like to know how running my pc on a home theater like this would affect its preformance wise the rig was a secondary question pertaining to a build for a system like this.

Well performance shouldnt matter since its a projector and you could use any resolution.

You should consider what games and what resolution you'll be playing in. Assuming you're using the native resolution of 1920x1080, I'd suggest something a little stronger than a 8800gt for it, since there are some racing games that are graphically demanding (GRID, Dirt 1/2, etc.). Here's a decent build for 700: Link

Thanks for your help guys. Since our bussiness is in so cal there is a large car coulture whoo can afford expensive sim racing stuff to get the thrill of racing without the high cost of hundreds of thounds, the risk and upkeep of real racing by buying high quality motion simulator simulators so mainly stuff like GTr evo rFactor but Mainly I racing will be run. i was just wondering about the difference from a monitor to the projector because the rig im building will be a test on the quality video wise not simulator wise.

Thanks for help!!!

Video Quality wise, it will only look as good as the projector is, a monitor is obviously better, but its also smaller. Some images may appear "washed out" or a bit dull, but thats because of the limitation of the projector, not the PC.

This. I have a projector myself, and the picture quality between it and my monitor when I play my ps3 on it is tremendously different. Just the overall sharpness of the picture quality deteriorates on the projector since the image is inflated, in a sense. I also find refresh rate to be even more important in projectors as well, as mine suffers from some blurriness when it comes to fast moving images.

It seems that price is not a factor.

I would recommend getting a new card with native HDMI out, and a fast processor (because unfortunately, most video codecs do not take advantage of GPU acceleration).

As for your concern with delay and stuff, all of those things are easily compensated assuming you have the right gear in your sound system (IE: if the video is delayed by x seconds, delay the sound by that much as well).

Need a budget for your card...If you can afford it, the Radeon HD 5000 series is about to release.

As a plus, the new ATI cards probably won't need a new psu.
