I just bought a firewire card, but I don't know if I have an available PCI slot, or even a PCI Slot at all. I have Windows XP Sp2 though, so I should probably have it right? But how can I tell if I have an available PCI slot? Help would be super appreciated since I need this firewire card working soon.

Of course you have PCI slots. If you didn't, you'd be running Windows 3.1 on a 386. :)

Why is one shorter than the other three? So average, I should have at least two? And do I have to open the back of my computer? I mean the whole thing? I'm not good at tools.

Well, the majority of your slots should be PCI, and the look like the three on the left.
