Help with the Witcher

For some reason when i start this game up the mouse does not appear so i cannot click on any of the menu buttons causing me not to be able to play the game. Any help / tips / suggestions?

There are 3 viewpoints when you play this game. You are in action viewpoint; so no mouse. Toggle to strategic viewpoint, either F1. F2, or F3.

Edit: But this if for in-game. If you can't even go in-game, then try reinstalling.

no its not during the game, its when i start it up, i want to load one of my saves but there is no mouse so i cannot click on my most recent save file
