A member on this forum (FireBurger) put this rig together for me, and so far it looks really good.

https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=7435987&WishListTitle=Crysis+Rig

I'm looking to max out games like Bioshock and Crysis, and just wanted to verify that this rig would be able to do that.

Also, what DVD drive should I get? Something with burning and lightscribe, preferrably.

Thanks.

yeah of course it will run those hell even a $600-$700 tower could run those games on max and why are you gettings a 8800gtx 768mb with a 19in monitor? either cut it down to a 8800gts 640mb or get a bigger monitor

I was thinking about a bigger monitor, but to be honest, in the world of PC gaming, I have next to no experience, so I have no idea what I'm looking for.

Which is why I'm on here.

Plus, I'm looking for a powerful rig to last me a while.

Oh BTW, just get one of them $29 DVD burners on newegg. They're OEM. Like Mastershake said. Getting a GTX for a 19" monitor isn't worth it. Stick with a GTX and a 22 inch+, or 19"-20" and a 640MB GTS. That will give you better value for your money.

A 320MB GTS would probably manage that resolution fine...

Also, what about swapping the E6600 for an E6750? Cheaper and more powerful!

Get instead of the e6600 a e6750.

Also get that rig in 1 month time changing the 8800gtx for a 8800gts 320 mb, with Evga you can do the upscaling thing for 90 days (3 months) and upscale to the 9800gts/gtx (released in november), you will be damn happy.

I'm definately changing to the E6750.

Also, I'm not going to be picking this rig up until later this year, so is there any hardware coming out that I would be good with?

I noticed that the 9800 is coming, and that looks pretty metal. Although I'm not really interested in getting that on release, what would possibly take full advantage of it that won't run on earlier hardware?

EDIT: I must say, you guys are damn helpful, thanks to you very much.

6750 cheaper than the 6600? I thought they were right about the same.

Another thing, is it worth it to get the extended warranty on things like the graphics card, processor, hard disc etc...?

It's an extra $374.91 with all the plans, so I'm just wondering.
