Hey i was just looking for a case for my new build and i found this one which i really like, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2007/09/05/lian-li_pc-b25/1 . I really love the look, the lack of weight and the fact its quite a large mid tower case but not a huge full tower case. But im kind of worried about the cooling, it only has two 120 mm fans at the front and one 120mm at the back. Do you guys reckon this could be an issue? im going to be running a HD 4870x2 in it and i hear they get quite hot. Can you guys suggest any other ways of keeping inside cool? thanks in advance

P.S im not too keen on watercooling :D

It could very well be an issue.. a hot card in a mid tower with cables everywhere and only 2 fans is going to get real hot, real fast. I know you might not like it, but I'd try either a full tower (more room = better airflow) or a different mid tower (like the Antec 900).

Looks like a fine case to me. Doesn't look like it would be much worse, if any, than the Antec 900.

If that's the case you want, get it Lian-Li, makes nice cases.

looks good to me, it has two spots for fans in the back and Im sure you can put a fan in the front so I would say go for it. You can always try a liquid cooling system if it gets too hot.

I dont like the fact that the case is so concealed. It doesnt look like it could breathe. No front air vents or blowhole. The only air coming out of that thing is the back but no air is going in. Air intake is just important as exhaust. It's sorta like a car. Air intake + exhaust. You gotta have an "in and out" flow.

It does have grills all around the edges of the front panel... but im not sure how effective that is

Not very effective at all because air-flow should be coming in from the front, out the back. The chances of warm or hot air escaping those grills around the edges of the front panel is highly unlikely. It will go out through the back with the air-flow. A blowhole is great because hot air rises. So the hot air at the top of the case is vented out through the blowhole. I would look into another case. There are far better ones.

I dont even see side air vents on that case. Hell, even retail computers at Best Buy have side air vents. Yeah, definitely look into something else.

Antec 900 is an alright case... I have it and it honestly has the worst cable management ever which greatly constricts airflow. My 4850 is about 1 inch from the drive bays and since im not that good with building computers i dont want to run the cables to the space between motherboard and right case side. If you do know how to do it go for it since it comes with around $50 of free fans :)

Look at the pictures again. Around the edges of the front door, there are slits that allow more than enough air flow.

Not sure if it would work, but in my mind the air passing over the aluminum might actually help cool it a little bit????

But nonetheless I still think it would make a great case. And about the side vents, if you have a good design with good airflow, vents can just mess it up.

Lots of Lian-Li's are made with modification in mind, either from the consumer or whatever company the sell their comps to.

Is there anyway i can put additional fans on the inside to help push airflow through the case? How would i go about doing that? and would that be a bad idea?

Have you considered some more aerated models by the same company? A friend of mine has this Lian Li case and swears by it.
