how much are you willing to spend?

EDIT: Pentium 4 isn't duel core either so u don't have 2 CPU's thought i might just point that out, though that isn't a bad processor.

I have a 7600GT and can't even max out the game @1152x864. I usually average around the 20's or even the teens at that setting, which is pretty odd since GS and a bunch of other websites said that a 6800 ultra can max out the game @ 1600x1200 with an average of around 40FPS.(If you didn't know the 7600GT is better than a 6800 ultra)

Not satisfied with the answers you got?  Get the 7900GS for $150 on newegg. That will max it out and last for a little while.

I have the exact same processor (P4 HT 3.0) as you with 1GB ram. I just upgraded to the PNY 7600GT for £75 and it runs at max settings smoothly @ 1280x1024 (40-50 fps)

Please tell me how you did that? What drivers are you using?

get an ATI x1650 agp 4x/8x ~$150, it will run it all on high, i would consider upgrading your ram for better loading times and less hickups

I run the same processor as well (P4 HT 3.0)

Like you, I was stuck with AGP instead of PCi express, so the best video card that my computer supports is a GeForce 6800 GT (you'll also want to check your power supply to make sure it can handle the added power - there were some more powerful AGP graphics cards in the Geforce family, but they really hogged the power). If you go for the 6800GT I recommend the one from BFG that is overclocked right out of the box. You should be able to find it for cheap nowadays.

Other than that, upgrade your RAM! I have 2gigs and for this game it really seems to make a difference. I play at 1600 X 1200 with 2x AA and it flows very smoothly.

Good luck

Iam using the 94.24 update! It starts a bit laggy for about 40 seconds but after that its 40-50 fps! Also its settings are all on high apart from the AA which is turned off. And that at a 1280x1024 res.

Ah, sorry the one i recommended(the link) is a PCI slot! You maybe can get in in AGP though.

For the sub $100 range look for the 7600GT. My friend has one and he can play bf2 on high at 128x1024 @ 40-50fps. theres really nothing better than the 7600GT for under $150 so you'd have to dish out about $155+ for a 7900GS, X1950pro, or x1950GT. At about $175 you can get a Directx10 compatible 8600GTS. anything after that wouldn't be considerd a cheap card :P.

Hope this helps.

Okay WTF. My drivers are the same as yours and my rig overall is better than yours. Why the hell is my performance so bad in this game? I did a fresh format and re-installation of XP so I know it's not my OS that's the problem. Is your average 40-50FPS? Or is it just your max or your framerate in remote areas where there isn't that much action going on?

The only thing about my setup is that I'm using windows server 2003, which is basically normal windows XP, but a server edition of it.

Well my OS is Windows XP Mdeia Centre. The only 2 maps i use at the moment are Warlord and Wake Island, also i only play the games with about 50-60 people on them (small games bore me stiff)!

its rated at 2 cpus because it has HT, which is sort of like another core almost.
